Conservation

Raised on the Blackland Prairie of North Texas, Firstlight Printing’s founder, Brian Donovan, developed a passion for conservation at an early age while watching one patch of prairie after another plowed under for development. At the same time, Brian was immersed in the coastal prairies, marshes and bays of Port Lavaca and Matagorda, Texas, cementing a determination to preserve the wild playground he was fortunate enough to experience while chasing ducks and redfish.

 

In 1997, Brian founded the Frisco, Texas committee of Ducks Unlimited, which has grown into one of America’s most productive chapters and made frequent appearances on the DU President’s and President’s Elite lists. In 2012, he was selected as the first social media chairman for Texas Ducks Unlimited, serving three terms. Along the way, Brian became a Diamond Life sponsor with Ducks Unlimited, supporting DU’s Gulf Coast Initiative. He is a founding member and the current President of the NTX Chapter of Coastal Conservation Association, and Executive Board member of CCA Texas.  

 

After 15 years in the printing business, Brian founded Firstlight Printing & Graphics, LLC in 2016 with conservation as a cornerstone of the company’s mission.

Firstlight exists to leave a conservation legacy. In 2018, Firstlight Printing was the first printing company in the world to become a 2% for Conservation Business Member, certifying the company donates at least 1% of our sales and 1% of our time to wildlife conservation. We are proud to support Coastal Conservation Association, FlatsWorthy, Delta Waterfowl, Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership and Sportsmen’s Alliance with our money and our time.
